We happened upon this group of Red Hat Society ladies during a recent excursion and I had to surreptitiously take their picture so that I could mock them in this blog.
I get the idea behind it...being at the point in one's life where one can just throw all caution to the wind and enjoy one's self, ok, but do you have to throw all dignity to the wind as well? Why not just throw in some rubber noses and clown shoes? (The red espadrilles are close enough, I guess) It's not cute, it's not delightful, this is embarrassing for everyone.
If any of you reading this are considering becoming old soon and joining this herd, I caution you that I will find you and beat you to death with that stupid red hat.

As a person who qualifies for this club, I think you are being mean. I must remind you that you should not judge another until you have walked a mile in their red espadrilles. Is this really any worse than the black clothes, black boots and black lipstick era embraced by a certain young lady we know, but more cheerful?
This is completly different, I was rad and this is gay.
See what people in Massachussetts think is cool? You asked for it. I don't recall EVER seeing large groups of old ladies with silly red hats in Cicero or Berwyn.
Be careful- this is your silly east coast white people version of a gang. I was told that for them to get into the gang- they have to cut in front of you in line to get into "the cheesecake factory"
Oh, Chanda, don't be so bitter about New England...these oldies are everywhere. Google it.
